Eldred Wheeler has combined the Pembroke Factory Store with their newly completed and larger woodworking shop located at 199 Winter Street, Hanover, MA. The 12,000 sq. ft. plant doubled their woodworking production. “The expansion was completed just in time to cope with our large Summer Sales” stated John Quirk, of Eldred Wheeler’s marketing department. “ With the added floor space we were able to purchase and place over a dozen new pieces of woodworking equipment, allowing us to maintain the exceptional quality Eldred Wheeler furniture is renowned for and dramatically increase the number of forms produced each week” Quirk continued. Newly installed equipment includes Planers, inverted router, belt sanders, joiners, table saws, mortiser and drum sander. Emmett |

Eldred Wheeler is consolidating their furniture showroom on the second floor of 444 Danbury Road, (Route 7) Wilton, CT. The same building Eldred Wheeler customers have been visiting since 1980. The decision follows a wide search for smaller, more affordable space with the same ‘look and feel’ customers had become accustomed to over the past thirty years. “We jumped at the opportunity to remain in the same location and lower our overhead. The savings will help us continue to expand our new woodworking facility,” states Dave McCarthy of Eldred Wheeler. Open House scheduled for new |

We finally found an Oliver that could be refurbished and jumped at the chance to get it.” remarked Spillane. Another addition, an upgraded Spray Booth, “made it possible for us to finish our furniture much more quickly - with no sacrifice in quality,” states Quirk. Additional equipment is planned to be installed and operational later this year according to Quirk. First Tiger Maple Block and Shell Chest Over the years Eldred Wheeler has produced dozens of Block and Shell Chests. This month the first four drawer Tiger Maple version was completed at Eldred Wheeler’s Hanover, MA plant. Over time our Cherry Block and Shell Chests have more than retained their value. Like every piece of Eldred Wheeler furniture the Block and Shell Chest is constructed the way it would have been two hundred years ago, requiring extensive hand fitting, dovetail joints and pegged mortise. According to Quirk “Eldred Wheeler monitors quality antique auctions. We monitor quality antique auctions where Eldred Wheeler pieces. We are gratified to see the prices our pieces bring – showing that the investment quality of Eldred Wheeler is widely recognized. The new tiger maple Block and Shell Four Drawer Chests are expected to become one of our more widely coveted pieces! |
